catch up

Wow, it’s been awhile since I’ve posted. So let’s get caught up on my life adventures. (And it’s Saturday night, and I have nothing else to do, shocking right?!?!)

Starting from today and working the way back…

Today: My alma mater won the CCHA tournamaent (that’s hockey!) in Detroit. Woohoo! This should start their run to another Frozen Four. I spent way too many hours watching basketball, but what a finish for Butler. Growing up in Indiana, how could I not root for the Bulldogs?! I watched The Fighter, didn’t enjoy it, it gets 2 stars. I continued working on cleaning my kitchen. And I took a long nap this morning instead of going to the gym. I think I have a stress fracture in my 5th metatarsal, so I’m a bit bummed about that since I’ve been on a role with working out. I guess it just gave me an excuse. I’m sure I can probably find something to do if it really is a stress fracture and I have to “rest.” Something to get checked out this coming week.

Last week: It seemed to last forever! I met 2 girlfriends for lunch on Friday at Luna Grill in Bressi Ranch. I got the Greek Salad with chicken, and the chicken was undercooked. Back it went, and they got it right the second time. It was pretty good, but not as good as my regular Greek place. It was great to spend some time with my friends during the workday. We are totally going to do it more often! St. Patty’s Day came and went, and while I wore green, I didn’t partake in any festivities. I had Small Group that night, and in my quest to deepen my faith, I chose the group over drinking and eating. I really love the time I get to spend with the ladies in the group. The night before that, I played bunco. There were only 8 of us, and I had a chance to win. This girl who kept track of everyone’s wins ended up winning. Kind of made me wonder if she cheated! I know I shouldn’t think that, but I placed second to her and could have won $30! Oh well. Work is going well. A bit unmotivated, but I’m working through it. My boss travels a lot, so I get to workout at lunchtime! This week I did 2 spin (RPM) and 2 BodyPump classes. I always feel great about it and I’ve been on a bit of a roll lately with workouts. I feel like I’m getting stronger and fitter. I lost a pound last week, yeah! But I’m not eating any better. I need to do something about that, and signed up for a nutrition class through my insurance program. We’ll see if that helps! I know what to do, I just don’t do it.

The week before last: Pretty much the same as last week. Went to work and went to gym and went to small group. I made it to 3 RPM classes and 2 BodyPump classes. I started cleaning my kitchen (which is a huge chore, since I pulled everything out of the cabinets to wipe them down). At church, I heard Ken Blanchard speak on “Lead Like Jesus.” I have been a huge follower of Blanchard’s leadership philosophy, reading several of his books like One-Minute Manager, Who Moved My Cheese, and Situational Leadership. It was incredible hearing him speak on servant leadership and how Jesus is a great model for leadership. I will have to do a recap this week. He stayed around afterwards to sign copies of his book. I bought 2, one for me and one for my parents, and he signed both. It was kind of like that rock star moment, where you finally get to meet your idol! That week I also met up with my girlfriends at Blue Ribbon Artisan Pizza in Encinitas. It was wonderful. You can check out my review on Yelp. And spending time with my favorite people, I am always assured to have a good time.

Japan: My heart and prayers go out to everyone affected by the earthquake and subsequent tsunami.

So that’s about it. Just a few more adventures in my life. I’m really going to try better to keep up with this and try to impart some wisdom, humor, and craziness to the blog world.

Watching: Easy A (it’s actually pretty good)
