So I’ve started to cook quite a bit, trying to save money and eat healthier. It’s been fun, going through all of my cookbooks, finding recipes with not too many ingredients that look fairly easy to make. I’m not going to pretend that I’m a good cook, but I tend to like what I eat. I grew up as a very picky eater, heck I didn’t have a strawberry or grape until I was in college! But I have definitely branched out, although I’m still not too open to strange foreign food.
So today at the store I picked up some pre-made steak kabobs from Von’s. They were on sale for $4.99/lb. I got 2, and they were just a lb. I wasn’t sure what I was going to marinate them in, but I checked out myrecipes.com and found this molasses-balsamic recipe. It was so easy to put together. And since I don’t have a grill, I used my george foreman grill, so I just basted the kabobs every 2 min. until they were done. I’m not going to eat them tonight, saving them for lunch tomorrow and Tuesday, but I did try a bite. It was pretty good. It could have used a bit less seasoning salt and pepper. I’ll add some rice blend I got from Costco to make it a complete lunch tomorrow.
