I’m a 30-something single girl living in Southern California. I moved here about 6 years ago for a job, from Ohio, and while I wish I could say I’ve loved every minute, I have had my doubts. Yet, I am trying to experience all that SoCal has to offer, and try to bring myself joy and happiness every day.
This blog is about me. I started with the intention that I wasn’t going to focus on one specific thing, but I have found that the one thing in my life I know I have control over is my weight. And being overweight has been with me all my life, so I’m tackling this issue on my blog. Other things will creep in to talk about, but most of what I’ve been writing lately is about trying to lose weight and live a healthy lifestyle. And I know over time I will get better at writing, so just bear with me. I always loved writing in school, but never really the creative or reflective kind. (I was a pretend-journalist!)
I am a certified athletic trainer, having spent many a Friday night on the football sidelines, on the basketball bench, or in the baseball dugout. Being a fan of sports, I enjoyed it, but didn’t love it. So I went to work in corporate America, but for a company that proudly supports the athletic training profession. I maintain my certification, and still give out advice on injury prevention and rehabilitation to co-workers, friends, and family. I’m proud of the company I work for and it lets me stay up-to-date with the happenings in the athletic training world and with college friends and former colleagues. Plus I get to meet some pretty cool athletes.
